As Chairman, CEO, and Founder, Dave is the thought leader behind the Education at Work organization and business model. He drives key high-level initiatives that move the business forward and help deliver against the organization's mission, vision and values.

Dave's priorities include:

  • Advocating for the importance of students earning a college degree
  • Meeting with top business leaders to drive new client-partner relationships
  • Facilitating partnerships with universities to access their talent pool of students
  • Making the Education at Work business model successful in the Cincinnati region, then further expanding it nationally
  • Building a world-class Education at Work leadership team that is passionate about education and workforce development

Dave is an experienced CEO and community leader with broad industry experience and a strong track record of delivering successful results. As a graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.B.A. in finance from the Ross School of Business, Dave continues to demonstrate his commitment to higher education by serving his alma mater as Chairman of the Ross School's Executive Education Advisory Board.

Dave began his career in brand management with Procter & Gamble where he worked across several brands. Following his tenure at P&G, Dave moved to LensCrafters, where he successfully led the start-up and ultimate sale of the Goggles Sunglass chain to Sunglass Hut.

Dave joined MATRIXX Marketing in 1990, where he became a founding member of the management team. MATRIXX became Convergys Corporation (CVG) through an IPO in 1998. At Convergys, Dave served as President of the Customer Management business for 5 years, where he grew revenues from $225 million to $1.4 billion. Dave's skills were needed next at Convergys Information Management software business, where he developed and led the strategy to evolve the business from a software shop serving North America, to become a true software product company selling globally. Dave was promoted in 2005 to COO of Convergys with responsibility for 90% of the revenue and profit. Shortly after, Dave was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2006 and then promoted to President and CEO of Convergys in 2007. As CEO, Dave led the successful transformation and restructure of the company to focus on growing the core Customer Management business.

Since leaving Convergys in March of 2010, Dave has remained an active member in the Cincinnati community where he continues to act on his passion to make a difference, help people in need, and advocate for the importance of higher education. Dave was selected to lead the 2010 greater Cincinnati United Way campaign that raised $60.5M. In early 2011, Dave took over as Interim Executive Director of the Cincinnati USA Partnership, which is responsible for driving economic development in the tri-state region. Dave led the new "grow our own" economic development strategy, secured incremental funding for the Partnership from local government and private companies, as well as $2.6M in matching funds from the State of Ohio.

Dave is now turning his efforts toward building Education at Work which strives to deliver top customer care and back office services to our client-partners, along with helping to make college education more affordable for America's next generation.
